WALKING TOUR UP TO PADDUS-NABBARNA
WITH ABISKO GUESTHOUSE
Paddus is an ancient Sami sacrificial place, still holding significance for the remaining Sami people, with sweeping views over Lake Torneträsk and the surrounding area.
We head off from the Guesthouse at 10am, walking up through the birch trees and along the flower-lined trial to the higher ground above Abisko. Paddus sits on a small plateau and this is where we stop for a break to appreciate the open space. If we are lucky, we will see wild animals like moose, reindeers, red fox, arctic hare, golden head eagle, white tailed eagle, grouse and ptarmigan on this tour.
Bones and small implements, like knives, have been found here.
Starting time 10am. Duration about 3 hours. Bring food for lunch if you want to. Total walking distance is around 2-3km.
