Wish you could photograph the arctic night sky? Learn with us!

Learn how to photograph the Aurora and perfect your landscape and sky photography with our two-level workshops at Abisko Guesthouse this October/November.

There is something special about the night sky in Abisko and, when the sun comes up, the spectacular landscape in Abisko National Park. From the reflection of the aurora in Lake Torneträsk to the mountains that surround it, the eagles that soar in the sky to the reindeer that roam the hillsides, there is a huge amount to photograph here.

In October/November 2017 and again in January 2018, we are running some awesome photography workshops. Join us for any or all of our them and learn everything from getting started with our cameras to perfecting you landscape and night sky photography.

The mornings are free for you to explore the area and book any other of the activities-of-a-lifetime we have. You’ll go home with some truly amazing shots and a better understanding of how to take even more.

BEGINNERS Fri 20th Oct – Sun 22nd Oct 2017 and Fri 17th Nov – Sun 19th Nov 2017

3pm afternoon photo workshops.
Fri – the basics: a quick guide to working your camera and how to compose a great photo.
Sat – camera settings, using the flash and additional light in the dark (inside and outside).
Sun – getting the best shots out in bad lighting, landscape and nature.

7pm every evening aurora photo workshop. We start by heading on out to our photo location, a different location each evening. We have something warm to drink and a short introduction about camera techniques and photography tips for aurora picture-taking. Don’t worry if you have never used camera before, our professional photographers will quickly teach you the skills for taking picture of the magical aurora borealis. Those memories and photos will last a lifetime. We provide a camera and tripod but you should bring a memory card with you to take your photos home on. If you don’t have your own memory card, you can buy one from us.

Your instructors:Frank Lee - photo workshop at Abisko Guesthouse

Frank Lee – our dedicated Abisko landscape, nature and aurora photographer with his studio at Abisko Guesthouse.

Frank is a very kindly person. He is also very professional. Although I have a 650D canon camera, he kindly help me a lot to catch aurora as soon as possible. Without his guide, I think I need much more time to do it. I strongly suggest to join his photo trip when you visit Abisko! — Fang-Chun (Facebook.com/laplandtrip/reviews/)

There is also the option to talk to Frank about how to sell your photography.
